Ugh, I just found out that Angelina Jolie is playing Mariane Pearl, who was married to Daniel Pearl, in a movie based on Ms. Pearl's book about her husband getting murdered by terrorists.
So, EWWW! Mariane Peale is mixed, of Dutch and Afro-Cuban heritage. And Hollywood goes and gets some skeletal white lady to play her. Ok, I'd love to pretend that race is inconsequential, and therefore why does it matter that Jolie-poop-face would play her, blah blah blah. But if it really was that way, it should be no problem finding a well-known mixed race actress OTHER than Halle Barry (who =crazy btw), someone with the same light brown skin and curly hair to play Ms. Pearl, just for the sake of accuracy. Oh but wait! We don't have any other powerhouse starlets who also happen to be brown people.
Let's whitewash everything, why don't we?
